Layup Lines: Welcome back
Most of the league plays tonight!

Happy Tuesday and welcome back to Layup Lines, your quick recap of what’s going on in the WNBA. While I personally choose to live a life of glamour and felt yesterday was a slog without any games to gamble on, here’s hoping you had a restful Memorial Day.
We went 2-1 on Sunday thanks to a couple of unders hitting and a complete misread of how poorly Jewell Loyd would play for the Aces against the Storm, her former team (14 points on 4-15 shooting).
This 461 word newsletter should take less than 2 minutes to read.
Bets of the day
We are 10-13 this season and have $828 of our initial $1,000 remaining to wager.
Most of the league plays today, all on League Pass — Dallas @ Connecticut (7pm), Golden State @ New York (7pm), Seattle @ Minnesota (8pm), Atlanta @ Los Angeles (10pm) and Chicago @ Phoenix (10pm). Of the five games tonight, I like three of them:
The Dream are missing Brittney Griner due to a knee injury and are playing their fifth game in eight days.
Bet: Atlanta / L.A. under 161.5 total points scored, $50 to win $46.
The betting market should be excited about Kayla McBride’s likely return to the Lynx, but she’s going to be rusty and the Storm are red hot.
Bet: Seattle +7.5, $50 to win $44.
The Wings and Sun are both desperate for their first win of the season and that should lead to points.
Bet: Dallas / Connecticut over 163.5 total points scored, $50 to win $44.

Take of the day
Even though the Fever don’t play until tomorrow, the big news of the week so far is that Caitlin Clark will be out for “at least two weeks” with a left quad strain.
I am very much not a doctor, but there’s no way Clark is back in two weeks. This is a quad injury that has been lingering since the preseason on an unbelievably competitive player who didn’t miss a single game in college. There are already practice clips of teammates telling her to sit down and rest.
I’d love to be wrong, but I think the Fever are going to force Clark to rest more than she thinks she needs to and she won’t be back until June 17 against the Sun at the earliest.
