Layup Lines: Time for Prime
Two games, two wagers for your Thursday night.

Happy Thursday and welcome back to Layup Lines, your quick recap of what’s going on in the WNBA. It’s been a weird week without games on Monday or Wednesday, but buckle up — we've now got 7 straight days of games (and newsletters!).
We went 2-1 with our bets on Tuesday, though we did happen to miss the one I wrote the entire newsletter around (the Storm beating the Wings by 10.5+).
The Wings are still real bad, but the Storm are also falling apart and probably shouldn’t be favored by double digits over anyone right now.
This 403 word newsletter should take less than 2 minutes to read.
Bets of the day
We’re 19-21 this season and have $870 of our initial $1,000 remaining to wager.
There are two games today, both on Prime Video — New York @ Washington (7:30pm ET) and Golden State @ Phoenix (10pm).
While I still enjoy watching the Mystics, the Liberty are in the middle of a historic start to a season and have been covering big numbers.
Bet: New York -13, $50 to win $45.
The Mercury are struggling to score with Alyssa Thomas still out and the Valkyries are going to swarm Phoenix’s guards defensively and slow the game down.
Bet: Phoenix / Golden State under 157 total points scored, $100 to win $91.

Card of the day
Satou Sabally made some interesting comments earlier in the season about her new team in Phoenix, saying via Desert Wave Media Co., “I would really say this is the first time that I’ve really been coached and pushed to my limits in every single position.”
The forward is having a career year for the Mercury after getting out of Dallas, but let’s also remember that Sabally has rarely been able to stay healthy over her six WNBA seasons. If she can keep scoring 20+ points per game while playing a full season, she’ll earn some MVP votes and a huge new contract next year.
