🙌 Layup Lines: Sunday slammer
Plus, the Lynx continue to own the Liberty.

Happy Sunday and welcome back to Layup Lines, your quick recap of what’s going on in the WNBA. May you do to the day what Minnesota has been doing to New York this season.
Programming note: The W is off tomorrow and so are we. Have a great Monday and we’ll see you back here Tuesday!
This 423 word newsletter should take less than 2 minutes to read.

It does need to be said that the Liberty have been without Breanna Stewart for all three of their losses to Minnesota this season … but the Lynx have also been without Napheesa Collier for the last two and it hasn’t mattered.
After beating New York again yesterday, this time 86-80, Minnesota is now 28-5, including 17-1 at home, with a healthy seven game lead over the second-best record in the league (Atlanta).
These two teams play each other for the fourth and final rematch during the regular season on Tuesday. Can the Lynx go 4-0?

Today’s games

By the grace of the Lynx and Liberty pushing on their point total last night, we are technically still alive on bets but barely breathing. Of an initial $1,000 budget to wager, we are down to our last $30.64. What a disaster.
Of today’s five games, we’re going to nibble three of them:
The Sparks are just a half-game out of the last playoff spot and would love to put some space between themselves and the 10th-place Mystics.
Bet: Los Angeles -3, $10 to win $8.92.
The Wings are much more fluid on offense without Arike Ogunbowale playing and I think Paige Bueckers should have a big game on national TV.
Bet: Dallas / Las Vegas over 170 total points scored, $10 to win $8.92.
The Valkyries being underdogs at home is an opportunity, even if it is against the Dream.
Bet: Golden State to win, $10.64 to win $17.02
Card of the day
Panini just announced they’re going to sell 2025 Impeccable WNBA cards, bringing its high-end brand to the W for the first time. Release dates haven’t been announced yet, but I have a hunch on-card autos like the one below are going to set more sale records.
