Layup Lines: Lonely Saturday

There's one game tonight between two frustrating teams.

Happy Saturday and welcome back to Layup Lines, your quick recap of what’s going on in the WNBA. We went 1-2 last night after the Fever managed to score over 80 (but still lose) and the Liberty blowing out the Mystics via getting Jonquel Jones back.

  •  The Aces scoring 96 was impressive and helpful, but I need to be sharper.

Bets of the day

  • We’re 14-18 this season and have $795 of our initial $1,000 remaining to wager.

  • There’s only one game today and it’s a bit of a snoozer — Chicago @ Dallas (8pm ET, League Pass) without Paige Bueckers, who is out with a concussion.

    • These two teams just played on Thursday, with the Sky getting their first win of the season while putting up a huge point total of 189 (97-92).

    • The Sky have now scored more in each game this season than the one before it — 58, 74, 78, 89, 97. I don’t see them hitting triple digits today but the Wings have a terrible defense and should be discombobulated without Bueckers. Let’s double dip our chip.

      • Bet: Dallas / Chicago over 173 points scored, $50 to win $46.

      • Bet: Sky +2, $50 to win $44.

Card of the day

Jonquel Jones carried the Liberty inside last night with 14 points and 18 rebounds. If she can stay healthy, New York is going to be tough to beat.
