Layup Lines: Four-game Friday
We're leaning in tonight.

Happy Friday and welcome back to Layup Lines, your quick recap of what’s going on in the WNBA. We had a solid recovery day yesterday by going 1-1 — but the Liberty won big and so did we by putting two units on them.
That said, Aliyah Boston came nowhere close to hitting her personal over. Repeat after me: Friends don’t let friends bet player props this early in the season. Somebody stop me.

Bets of the day
We are 6-9 this season and have $894 remaining of our initial $1,000 to wager.
There are four games tonight, all on Ion — Connecticut @ Minnesota (7:30pm ET), Washington @ Las Vegas (10pm), Golden State @ Los Angeles (10pm) and Phoenix @ Seattle (10pm).
There are three huge home favorites — the Lynx (-16), Aces (-15) and Sparks (-10.5). One way to make those numbers a little more reasonable is a teaser, where you combine two bets in order to drive the points down. This lets us get Los Angeles into a more confident range while taking advantage of the Aces usually crushing their home openers.
Bet: 4-point teaser, Sparks -6.5 and Aces -11, $100 to win $90.
I also don’t see the Sun scoring much tonight, so we’ll take the under on the early game.
Bet: Under 159 points scored between the Sun and Lynx, $50 to win $46.
Take of the day
The Atlanta Dream are 1-2 and lost to the Fever at home last night, but I still liked how they looked under new new head coach Karl Smesko. He’s building an interesting offensive system with this very tall roster and while it’s too early to really tell, he might not be one the eight new head coaches who falls apart as the season goes along.

Card of the day
This card shows both Aces coach Becky Hammon in her rookie year and the hideous jerseys the league made players wear 25 years ago.
